Jolly Jester Rug Crochet Pattern
Introducing my newest crochet pattern--the Jolly Jester Rug! It is perfectly Felted Button style because it is colorful, textured and FELTED!
Why do I love felting so much? Read THIS POST about the 6 reasons I think it is so fabulous. And this felted rug has it all--durable, brilliant color, easy care, hides any stitch mistakes or imperfections, and best of all...
NO ENDS TO WEAVE as they bind tightly during felting and can just be snipped after the fact. It makes color changes no sweat, I tell ya! No excuses.
I made my sample with Patons Classic Wool--a worsted 100% pure new wool that felts perfectly every time. I have used it in almost all of my felting projects and it is brilliant. Plus, look at the colors available! I used 12 in my sample (about 130yds/118m) of each.
The 8 page pattern includes:
~complete written instructions for making the triangle motifs, raised dots, and joining it all together
~additional pictures for joining the dots to the triangles
~special stitches, notes and abbreviations (standard US terms)
~complete materials list including yarn colors used in the sample ~complete felting instructions that are simple and easy to follow

Skill Level: Intermediate--only because of a couple of tall stitches (detailed in the pattern), joining the dots as-you-go (pictures to assist, if needed), and felting.
Here is a picture of the rug before felting. It makes a nifty blanket, too, I suppose. But the magic of felting makes this...
