Long and Short Scarf Reveal
Popping in today to share with you my new design made with Scheepjes Secret Garden yarn.
I'm calling it the Long and Short Scarf--mostly because it is a long scarf made with short rows. If you've never tried your "hook" at short rows or slip stitch crochet--this is your chance to learn a new skill. It's super easy--and although it grows a tad slower than a taller stitch, gives you a fabulously textured and stretchy fabric.
In case you missed it, I showed you a little sneak peek of the WIP last week here and reviewed the yarn in an earlier post here if you want to get caught up.
For a quick overview--I seriously love this yarn. It truly is a luxury yarn at a very affordable price. You can find it on Wool Warehouse (UK) here* or Deramores (UK) here*, Knotty House (Canada) here*, LoveKnitting (US) here*.
And I love the versatility of how it can be worn--the fun of a longer scarf, I say.
Watch next week for the easy free pattern here on my blog. If you think you might forget--I'll announce in my "places" on Facebook here. Instagram (@FeltedButton) and Pinterest here.

I made it with solid Secret Garden (7 colors--one 50g ball of each), but there are a lot of variegated colors of Secret Garden that I think would look fabulous with this design--and might require you to purchase fewer balls, since the whole design only required about 206g total--just barely over 4 balls.
I'm particularly happy about the graphic contrast of the classic black and white striped section, with the angular sections of colorful short rows.
