Painted Pixels Blanket Crochet Pattern!!

Tee hee hee!! I'm trying not to be too silly, but this new little hooky happening makes me all just a wee bit giddy!!

I'm calling it Painted Pixels Blanket because the little boxes look like pixels
and the delightful blending of colors reminds me of blending little pots of paint on an artist's palette.

I am thrilled with it! Serious color happiness going on here! Coolest thing is, you get all the creative color-play you want. I used 7 different colorways to get this effect, but it can be worked up in any number of colors you want!

Look at these little color sections...

It's like each little section has it's own delightful little personality. If you're intimidated by where to place each pixel--DON'T BE!! This is where your inner artist can really play--even if you didn't know that person existed. You really cannot go wrong--and remember it needs to look pretty to you, so put them where it makes you happy.

Now, if you are one of those folks who thinks joining is a dreaded task, let me tell you, I came up with a very simple technique here that makes it all happen very quickly without needle and yarn, but rather your hook. I like easy joining.

The pattern includes instructions for making a baby size blanket or an afghan. Actually, it could be made in any size or dimensions you want with this pattern. Just keep making those little motifs and throw them in a bin. Make as many as you want--they each work up in just minutes. When it comes times to arrange them, go for it! Turn on some happy music and PLAY. Then when you need to pick the motifs up in rows, I suggest doing so on skewers like I detail here. Using this technique you don't have to leave them out while you join--just pull the next one off the skewer as you go. By the way, the joining is done with your hook so it speeds along!

Color, texture and options. That's what Felted Button is all about!

I hope you enjoy painting with yarn! I know I do! I had a friend call me a "yarntist". I like that! With this pattern, you can be one, too!

Hugs and happy days to you!
