Scheepjes Yarn Reef and Skies
Some crochet can be ugly. I'll admit it. Sometimes it's just lumpy, old-fashioned and tacky. But then there's that crochet that makes your heart sing--that is true fiber art--beautiful, functional, stylish, trend-setting. YARN book-a-zine is all of that and more. The newest edition of the book-a-zine was just released and it is a sight to behold, I tell ya!

There's such a fun variety of projects, from blankets and pillows, to shawls and sweaters, from cardigans and kaftans,to amigurumi and jewelry. You can see all of the projects from the issue on Ravelry here. You can also snag your copy of the bookazine from Wool Warehouse here* or Habbedash here. If you see a project or two or more that you are wanting to make, you can join in with others because the folks at Scheepjes are also running a MAL (make-a-long) in the Scheepjes Facebook group here. It gives you a chance to share your progress, get brave enough to try a project that you might not otherwise dare to start, and cheer others on as they make pretty stuff.
I was also fortunate enough to receive some of the new Scheepjes indigo-dyed cotton yarn called Skies--one in Heavy (DK) and one in Light (fingering/4 ply).
I immediately rewound my Light hank and prepped it for a new project that's rolling around in my head--a crossbody mandala bag that I can take on my trip to the CGOA conference this July. I'll share more pictures as it develops. If you want to try your hook in this softy stuff you can find it in all of my favorite places...
